New York Medical Marijuana laws state that residents of NY can qualify to apply for as Registry ID Card for Medical Marijuana if you have been diagnosed with any of these conditions:
Cancer, HIV infection or AIDS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury with spasticity, epilepsy, inflammatory bowel disease, neuropathy, and Huntington’s disease.
AND you must have one of these associated or complicating condition:
cachexia or wasting syndrome, severe or chronic pain, severe nausea, seizures, or severe or persistent muscle spasms.
Smoking marijuana is not permitted. Approved forms of medical marijuana include liquids and oil for vaporizing or via inhaler or oral capsules.
Requirements to apply for a New York Registry ID Card:
1. Get a certification from a physician registered with the department
2. Submit an applicataion online at https://my.ny.gov/ then click “Don’t have an Account?” button to create a personal ID first. Patients with a NY.gov account will login to https://my.ny.gov/, click the “Health Applications” icon, and then click the “Medical Marijuana Data Management System” link to register.
3. Provide proof of ID and Residency
4. Pay $50 application fee billed at a later date.
To purchase approved marijuana products the registry ID card and certification must be used to purchase from a registered organization’s dispensing facility.
